Tramp Apples

Tramp Apples Vol 1 was a CD documenting a one off meeting between some backward goons in a dingy basement. The whole session was too much for 1 CD, so here's the part that never made it. Look out bucket drumming, stump handed guitar and group moaning.

Oddities of the Lothians

Probably my favourite thing I've put out. Field recordings made in various locations around the Lothians, twisted and regurgitated. You can probably buy it some places still if you want a physical copy, but its up for free download elsewhere so fuck it, here you go....

Dead Labour Process "Lone Keys"

Very first release on Unverified, from Dec 07.
Solo single finger keyboard.

UN021 Christopher Riggs "Amazed Nova" cass £3

Prolific guitar whizz Chris Riggs specialises in coaxing and battering all sorts of wrong sounds from his 6-string. If you have heard any of his other releases on labels like Hanson or his own Holy Cheever Church, you know to expect none of the usual twang or strum. Here, he paints a dense and detailed wall of bizarre tone, from ancient sounding music-box jitters to uncomfortable amp thud.

UN023 Tuluum Shimmering "River Gods Strike Tuned Bronze Flowers" CDR

UN024 D.O-NEIMAGI-N.E/I-AMBNECESSNO "A No Place" CDR £4

Spit-close overloaded musings, backwardness, broken electrical clatter. A kind of musique concrete/cut-up/sound poetry symphony that is a pure treat. This is the first lengthy taste of his grim aesthetic available for pubic consumption. Glaswegian beauty like no other.

UN025 Precious Trombley "Simple Fighting" £3

If you search for these goofs on youtube, you'll see them jammin their thang on some Detroit street, looking like doobie-tooting youths who been spending too long trying to capture the cavemen-playing-free-jazz aesthetic which is so hot right now. On this tape they throw in some fizzling electronics and moaning trombone to the mix. Art by Knox Mitchell.

UN026 Elfenbeinturm "1982 - Pizza, Beer & Smokes" cass £3

A ritualistic lament for half-remembered smoked out youth. Datashock man Pascal Hector twists backed-up chatter, tape collage, analogue synth and primitive conga taps around themselves. Welcome to this guy's private universe, you'll like it.

Edinburgh experimental label Giant Tank showcases a cavalcade of Leith-based avant-noise practitioners in their own 'hood. Expect homebrewed electronics, leadweight clatter, outsider vocals, blissful drones and improv absurdia.

"...Reasons to go see Giant Tank... Edinburgh's premier promoters of aktionist noise happenings... It's not music. It's just noise. And there is nothing like it... It's not big. Or clever. But at various times it promises a stomach-churning, vomit-inducing, spiteful ugly and puerile racket. All of which are to be encouraged..." - The List

Dead Labour Process "Tit Laws"

Retarded cassette on the amazing Scumbag tapes. Manky old reel to reel tapes that were full of soft sounds, then I went and stupided all over them. The sound sample below is, rest assured, the least dumb ass material from the tape. Lots of attempts at skat singing and stoner rock played on toy electronics. SOLD OUT here.

Dead Labour Process "Lone Throat"

Cassette of solo vocals, mangled through tapes and stuck back together. As Tabs Out reckons: "...persistent oddball vocal manipulations with a dispersed use of looped weirdness. In the book Born To Talk by Lloyd M. Hulit and Merle R. Howard they discuss a form of speech known as echolalia, which is an imitation of words, phrases, or even whole sentences in the absence of an understanding of what they are saying. You see it in a bunch of different cases, including those with autism, Tourette syndrome, schizophrenia, etc... I'm not saying that the person or persons behind the Dead Labour Process moniker is inflicted with any of those disabilities (not there's anything wrong with that) but I wouldn't be blown away to find out that they did after listening to this tape."

Usurper with Dylan Nyoukis and Dora Doll

Scotland being the greatest country on Earth for monged out broken junk improvisation, it was inevitable that this grouping (luddite twins on disabled instruments Usurper and ex-Prick Decay/Decaer Pinga loons Nyoukis n Doll) would bash heads. And they did, in two wintery live sets a while back.

Muscletusk "Live at The Captain's Rest"

Recorded live in Glasgow, 2007.

Foxy Digitalis reckons: "Itchy, restless clatter and scrape blossoms into plumes of beguiling caterwauling guitars, cymbals and sheer abominable noise, perforated wildly by the drumkit's addled and coruscating accompaniment. Chaos is happily managed in the exponential orgiastic improvisation, huge waves of despairing, deep feedback pulse with a damaged intent, whilst tonal buckshot and scrap-metal fly out of the storm adding a razor-sharp edge to the dark cloud brewing beneath."

But the sample below is from the end of the gig, which doesn't really sound like that. Deal with it.
